Product Design

Coonara

In the late 1980s I worked as an Industrial Designer for a number of companies, both full-time and as a consultant designer.

I was consultant designer for Coonarra for seven years. A highlight of my work there was the design of the Coonarra Premier range of high efficiency solid fuel space heaters that were exported to Japan, Canada, New Zealand and the west coast of the United States.

Exhibition and Display

City Of Melbourne

I was the designer and production manager for the City of Melbourne’s Economic Development & Employment Unit display at the Melbourne Bicentennial Trade Expo held at the Exhibition Buildings in 1988. This display promoted small manufacturing businesses within the City of Melbourne.

Victree

Designer of a modular Victree display was built under sub-contract and distributed throughout Victoria to promote Victree’s premium clear pine building products. To help promote the quality furniture grading of the timber the displays were built using clear pine and featured several quality joinery methods in its construction.

Retail Design and Display

Crocker Hospitality

I worked for over a year with the Marketing Manager to build a new integrated corporate identity design and marketing programme. I re-designed their corporate identity, a broad range of digital and traditional print promotions collateral and Crocker’s print and web monthly promotional programmes.

Retail Design and Display

Crocker Hospitality

As part of the total integrated design programme at Crocker Hospitality I also provided design services to improve their retail outlet and provide branding for a concerted campaign to increase sales in the run-up to the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games.

This included re-branding the store in the new Hospitality 2000 livery and updating the transport graphics to look like a giant gift-wrapped box.
