Corporate Design - Proposal

Rufus Systems

A company I was doing some design work for was launching an existing product with a new brand to break it out of its existing narrow market space.

A number of possible paths were investigated, including an anthropomorphic one.

The idea behind the Rufus logo was an amalgam of performance (dashboard dial), continuity (arc) and obedient servant (dog).

The stationery had added elements, including a full circle watermark of the logo to show its dashboard dial incarnation.

Corporate Design - Proposal

Beach Sails

The design brief for the Beach Sails logo had a number requirements specific to a manufacturer and tuner of racing sails.

The logo needed to screen print or die-cut easily for positioning on the manufacturers sails, and it also needed to be simple and distinctive from a long way away, since most people would only see it when out on a sailing race course.

Corporate Design - Proposal

Intui

This work was done in 2006 for a mobile phone software and micro-payments company working throughout Asia and the Indian sub-continent. The project was to include new corporate identity, web site, downloadable marketing collateral and customer support documentation.

The idea behind the logo was that of a seedpod that was the germination point of the company’s technology development ideas.

The corporate stationery and web site included a pale grey grid element that was used to denote precision and repeatability. The colours were based on the client’s existing colour scheme for continuity. These were intensified and saturated to add strength to the new design over the old.

Corporate Design - Proposal

Fyshwick Fine Printers

Fyshwick Fine Printers was done as part of a business development pitch for a new digital printing service bureau in Canberra.

The playful logo had recognisable printers precision marks on it rearranged to look like kissing fish, a pun itself on the name of the suburb where the business was to be based.

Corporate Design - Proposal

OnRunGo

The OnRunGo logo is one of the proposals that I did for Agenys, a software development company that build automated code-generating systems for the .NET development environment.

The logo had two intertwined dynamic elements that illustrated the relationship between the code generating engine and the web application that it built.

Another part of the project was the branding for each of the three main products being offered by Agenys. The illustration here shows the different components in the product offering.

Corporate Design - Proposal

SimpleGreenBits

From time to time I have people asking me to do quick graphic logos at short notice that help them in presenting a business idea to investors.

SimpleGreenBits was one such idea that never got past the proposal phase, however I like these kind of quick challenges with small budgets – they are kind of the theatre sports of design!

Corporate Design - Proposal

Simpson Free Range Eggs

Simpson was like SimpleGreenBits in that it was a quick low budget design job that didn’t proceed past the concept phase.

I still liked the idea of a group of eggs cooking in a pot with the swirls of cooking making up the logo “S”. It was a bit of fun that still works for me.

Corporate Design - Proposal

Clubs & Activities Network

Clubs & Activities Network was going to be an extension of OK Activities Network social group idea that I was writing a business plan for in 2004.

I was trying to extend the social activities booking system I had built for OK Bushwalkers and looked to create a number of sub-groups that people could sign up for.

The logos shown here were used as part of the business proposal documentation.

Corporate Design - Proposal

Centre for Sustainable Development

The Centre for Sustainable Development was an organisation set in rural Gippsland, Victoria. In 2003 they asked me to put forward a proposal for a website to promote their various sustainability festivals and consultancy services.

I also did a logo for them as a side job because I wasn’t very thrilled with their existing one. Always worth a try!

Corporate Design - Proposal

Dabblers

The Dabblers are a small social group in Canberra that I looked into when I first moved to Canberra. I was looking for an alternative OK Bushwalkers, which I’d left back in Melbourne.

I had to have a go at improving their logo, and this was the result.
